This is the case with the arrival of Adrien Rabiot at OM. A starter in the French team, the midfielder played for Juventus until last May. Seeing him leave Italy for the 8th of the last French championship was unthinkable, especially with Arsenal and Manchester United as other suitors. Rabiot favored Marseille for its ambitious sporting project led by Roberto de Zerbi but also out of love for the Marseille club.
OM cost Rabiot several million euros
Even though he was trained at PSG and is a native of the Paris region, Adrien Rabiot is known to have appreciated OM since his early childhood. An attachment that is not feigned, as one of those close to him revealed to Provence. The French midfielder agreed to a real financial effort to finalize the operation.
« After the Euro, he needed to breathe physically and psychologically. He had some interesting offers, but couldn't find what he was looking for. For OM, it was the moment, even if Adrien is sitting on several million euros », blurted out this relative in the Provençal daily. New remuneration essential to allow this transfer. Adrien Rabiot is, however, not penniless in Marseille since he still receives 530,000 euros per month with the Phocéens. This salary could further increase if OM qualifies for the Champions League next season.
