According to information from Brazilian media No Ataque, Olympique Lyonnais could soon conclude the sale of its defender Adryelson to the Cruzeiro club for an amount close to 8 million euros. This operation would represent a great financial added value for the Rhone club, which had initially paid a little more than 3 million to secure the services of the Brazilian player.
An unexpected reinforcement for Lyon's finances
This potential sale of Adryelson comes at a crucial time for OL. The club must imperatively replenish its coffers and reduce its payroll in order to avoid a sporting demotion at the end of the season, as required by the National Management Control Department (DNCG). THE 8 million euros generated by this transfer would therefore represent a welcome financial contribution.
A valuation boosted by its performance at Botafogo
Adryelson recently played for Botafogo, another club owned by businessman John Textorowner of OL. Its remarkable performances, notably the conquest of the Copa Libertadores and the Brazilian championshipundoubtedly convinced Cruzeiro to go on the offensive to secure his services. This media exposure probably contributed to increase its market valuethus allowing OL to realize significant added value on its transfer.
A formalization expected soon
Although the details of the operation have not yet been made official, the announcement of this transfer seems imminent. If this sale goes through, it will represent a first Christmas gift appreciated for Lyon’s financesoffering a breath of fresh air in a tense economic context for the Rhone club.
