Bordeaux – Stade Rennes: SRFC notes
Stade Rennes challenged Bordeaux in the 32nd final of the Coupe de France this Sunday. Here are the Rennes scores, out of 10.
Gallon : 3
Starting for the first time under Sampaoli, the goalkeeper did not score any points. His hazardous exit opened the scoring in Bordeaux and a big doubt for his team (18th). Not reassuring afterwards (21st, 24th, 49th), neither on the ground nor in the air. A match well below expectations.
Hateboer : 5
Not bad in the duel with Andy Carroll, he quickly shows his limits when a duel on the ground takes place with a lively opponent. Good at anticipation, and often wavering.
Ostigard: 5
No risk for the new generation libero, well covered by Hateboer and Faye. 94% of successful passes like his hinge friends with whom the passes are repeated again and again without ever trying forward, and half of his duels lost.
Faye : 6
The only one of the three behind to try a few openings on the restart, rather solid for the rest. 128 balloons touched, a great launching pad.
Assignon : 6
Quite a few inaccuracies, poor anticipations and few duels won, but in the end a decisive pass on a good cross for Truffert, then a goal from the break upon receiving a cross from his friend on the left wing. A strike blocked before that.
Replaced by Gomez for the end of the match.
Truffert : 7
Captain of the day in the absence of Mandanda, he was fair in his choices, projected himself forward to cause danger and was rewarded for an overstep, scoring with a header to equalize and maintain his team in the match. A bar on the break goal which turns into a decisive pass for Assignon.
Replaced by Nagida for the end of the match.
Matusiwa: 6
Good for the duel today, aggressive ball scratcher for an hour, even if it means letting James take care of the game. Good returns (16th, 20th) and an assist on the 2-1 goal for the stats.
James : 6
Little in sight at the start of the match, he gained momentum to finally score the 2-1 goal and press on the Bordelais, after having put it on target a few minutes earlier (50th). Two thirds of his duels lost.
Replaced by Santamaria for the last three minutes.
Blas : 4
The strong man of this first part of the season was messy today, especially in the first period during which he got lost in his dribbling. A shot on target (51st) and a more correct second act, concluded with a penultimate pass for Kalimuendo, for the 4-1.
Replaced for ten minutes by Ahamada, indeed real.
Gronbaek : 3
Holder in the absence of Gouiri, the Dane has a new hard time, constantly making the wrong choice despite good openings for him. Half of his passes missed, several misses in front of goal (12th, 31st, 32nd), and an exit on the hour mark, directly to the locker room, quite angry.
Replaced by Jota, not necessarily more visible but decisive on the fourth goal, passer for Kalimuendo.
Kalimuendo : 6
Active in the game (71 balls!), he won a lot and was finally rewarded. Point of support on the goals of James and Assignon, he scored the last goal with a beautiful movement. 96% successful passes, 3 out of 4 dribbles passed.
