Olympique de Marseille could be forced to part with one of its players during the winter transfer window in order to reduce its salary expenses, a consequence of the massive investments made last summer. Amine Haritattacking midfielder for OM, would be the preferred target according to information from La Provence.
An expensive summer transfer window for OM
Under the leadership of its new Italian coach, theABOUT carried out an ambitious recruitment campaign with no less than twelve arrivalsincluding that of the free player Adrien Rabiot. This marked appetite on the transfer market has inevitably increased the payroll of the Marseille club. The president Pablo Longoria also recognized on Wednesday that the club “made a big investment this summer. We have to manage salaries”.
Amine Harit, first designated victim?
To cope with this tense financial situation, OM would consider parting ways with Amine Harit from this winter according to La Provence. The 25-year-old Moroccan attacking midfielder, under contract until 2027, would not fit into the plans of Roberto De Zerbi and his departure would allow the club to achieve substantial savings. Bamo Méite et Chancel Mbemba would also be pushed towards the exit.
Inevitable adjustments
Despite the absence of a European Cup this season, OM must imperatively rebalance its accounts after the reckless spending of the last transfer window. The departure of Amine Harit seems to be a first financial sacrifice essential for the Marseille club.
