In the show “Coups Francs” on Forever, the journalist Julien Bée looked ahead to Sunday's Coupe de France match against Stade Rennais.
“We will relive, in the space of an afternoon, what we experienced for 30-40 years. This is not the fittest team in the French championship. They are 12th, they changed coach… She is looking for herself a little, and over four matches, Jorge Sampaoli has had two victories and two defeats. They are less calm defensively, so perhaps our two players on the side can put them in difficulty. We know that Andy Carroll, in Ligue 1 or National 2, is still difficult to take. Rennes is in any case not the team that scares me the most. There’s a great team, that’s for sure. But a sick team coming to Bordeaux, where there will be popular support, and a crazy atmosphere… We want and need to experience that, so obviously something will happen in this match. In any case, there will be goals, it will vibrate, and that's what we expect […] If you lose against Ligue 1, will it really weigh… I think Bruno Irles is already mentally preparing them, saying that this match is a preparation meeting, a bonus meeting. If there is 6-0, indeed, it will be complicated for the leaders, but if you lose 1-0, 2-0, 3-0…”.
The journalist also noted the non-aggression pact
“I want to say that we are all breathing, because we can finally tell the families to come, that there is no longer any reason to be afraid, that nothing will happen, that they will be able to come and see a match in good conditions. And above all, more attacks outside the football sphere, it would be good for this to continue, for this pact to really be ratified in action. Fingers crossed that it goes very well. I hope it really holds up over time, and it’s about time it happened.”
