ASSE is preparing to host OM in the Coupe de France this Sunday at 2:45 p.m. The two teams already faced each other 10 days ago in the championship. The Geoffroy Guichard stadium was almost full for this meeting. The disciplinary committee summoned club representatives this Wednesday following the smoke bombs lit during this match. The verdict has just been announced!
On Sunday December 8, ASSE lost 2-0 against OM. The Greens did not exist against the runners-up in the championship. It was then the last match in the Cauldron for Olivier Dall’Oglio as Saint-Etienne coach. This Sunday, Saint-Etienne is hoping for another scenario to qualify for the next round of the Coupe de France.
Hundreds of smoke bombs lit
During the meeting between the Greens and OM in Ligue 1, Saint-Etienne supporters lit around 450 smoke bombs. The South Kop celebrated Saint Barbara’s Day, while the North Kop celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Avant Garde. The fireworks show was therefore there during this poster for the 14th day.
At the end of the match, a thick cloud of smoke coming from the Kop Nord pushed the match referee to interrupt the match. This interruption is certainly synonymous with suspension for La Tribune Charles Paret. Kop Sud could also be sanctioned following the lighting of smoke bombs. After the play-off match against Metz, La Tribune Jean Snella received a suspended closing match.
ASSE knows its sanction
This Wednesday, ASSE was therefore convened by the LFP disciplinary committee. The numerous pyrotechnic devices lit in front of OM were the subject of this summons. The decision has therefore been made: The Kops will be closed for 2 matches. This therefore deprives the residents of Kop Nord and Kop Sud of the matches against Reims and Nantes in January.
