The Girondins de Bordeaux have been placed in receivership, with more than 100 million euros in debts declared. The backup plan is strict and must be followed to the letter to avoid a further collapse of the club. There is therefore always this sword of Damocles which is above the heads of the Girondins. Last summer, we saw all our players leave. Only Zuriko Davitashvili was recruited for €6M by AS Saint-Etienne, and thank you to the Greens for this little help for this financier. Bordeaux had to rebuild its workforce and its staff in just a few days […] Bruno Irles was chosen, and he's a big name for the fourth division. We still see that there is competence. For the players, we had to move quickly to recruit and build up the numbers because there was the threat of absence of a team, and even of general withdrawal.”
However, if the athlete is good, this will not work for him.
“For me, as long as Gérard Lopez is there, the club will have no potential future. We have to start from scratch, find a new entrepreneur, a new shareholder, capable of regenerating the FCGB, and above all remembering its beautiful identity. I always remain a little reserved, even if when I go to the stadium and I go to see Andy Carroll, I'm rather happy, it's still the Girondins… I know that this beautiful story might not last.
