The next coach of the Greens, faced with a busy infirmary, will have to show creativity to field a competitive team in the weeks to come. If Mathieu Cafaro, suspended after his hand gesture against Rennes, missed the two matches against OM and Toulouse, Mickaël Nadé and Augustine Boakye are continuing their recovery phase and could soon be operational, but their return remains uncertain. On the other hand, Thomas Monconduit and Anthony Briançon, absent since this summer, are struggling to regain full possession of their means. There is still a long way to go for these two former executives, despite visible progress in recent weeks. Departures are expected this winter.
Wadji out for the long term for ASSE
The situation is even more worrying for Yvann Maçon and Ben Old, who suffer from long-term injuries. These absences weaken a team already lacking offensive and defensive solutions. Added to this is a new hard blow: Ibrahima Wadji's knee injury.
The 29-year-old Senegalese is having a dark season. After a promising first year in Forez, the striker suffered a series of physical glitches and poor performances. Hit in the knee during training, Wadji could be out for an extended period. Before being sidelined from the professional group, Olivier Dall'Oglio did not hide his concern about this situation: “Wadji hurt his knee a lot and the injury might be a little long. I don't have a time frame to give you, but it might be a little long.”
Deprived of many options, the future coach of the Greens will have to rely on the state of mind of his group and the transfer window which is arriving to hope to collect points in the weeks to come.
