Opposed to FC Bobigny, the Parisian U18s logically won on Sunday afternoon at the PSG Campus (4-0) to reach the 32nd final of the Gambardella Cup.
For this meeting against an opponent struggling in Group B of the U19 National championship with only two victories since the start of the season, Thomas Leyssales was able to count on the reinforcement of Ibrahim Mbaye, Axel Tape and Mahamadou Sangaré to line up a composition very offensive at kick-off.
If Emmanuel Mbemba's teammates dominate the start of the match, they nevertheless experience the worst difficulties in setting pace and using the width of the field well. After a first opportunity from Quentin Ndjantou Mbitcha (20th) and a long shot from Axel Tape (25th), it was Mahamadou Sangaré who had the clearest opportunity following a shot from Axel Tape which was pushed back with difficulty by the opposing goalkeeper but the Parisian striker is too tight to score in the empty goal (36th).
Finally, the Capital players opened the scoring on a corner taken by Oumar Camara. In all the good times, Axel Tape jumps higher than the goalkeeper and catapults the ball with his head into the back of the net (1-0, 38th). In the process, Mahamdou Sangaré finds himself in an excellent position in the area but his shot flies over the crossbar (39th).
Returning from the locker room, Bobigny manages to appear dangerous following a loss of the ball by Lucas Batbedat but the Balbynian striker does not target his attempt (53rd). After a first shot off target (54th), Oumar Camara adjusts the sights and takes advantage of a good service from Lucas Batbedat to double the lead with a sharp right shot that skims the post (2-0, 56th). The Visitors are suffering more and more, especially on the wings and Ibrahim Mbaye sends a good cross to Quentin Ndjantou Mbitcha who controls at the entrance to the surface and continues with a precise flat right foot in the opposite net (3-0, 61st).
Under the leadership of an intractable Axel Tape in the duels, the match is now one-sided and Thomas Leyssales makes several changes. Paris gets a triple opportunity: Mahamadou Sangaré misses his duel against the goalkeeper before new entrant Noah Nsoki recovers the ball and finds the post. In the process, Adam Ayari sends his shot just above the crossbar (73rd)! In the final moments of the match, Rayan Abo El Nay finally obtained a penalty converted by Mahamadou Sangaré (4-0, 90th).
Superior in all areas of the game, the Parisians therefore qualified for the 32nd finals of the Gambardella Cup thanks to a much better second half. The next meeting will take place on January 12.
