“We knew that the match was not necessarily going to be good”
Yanis Merdji for Forever radio: “We knew it was going to be a complicated match, given the pitch which is not easy to play on, but also against a team which releases the ball well and who put us in difficulty on ball releases. I think that we were solid, even if we conceded chances, but we were not really put in danger.
Today we got the job done. We knew that the match was not necessarily going to be good, but we secured the most important thing by taking the three points. If our season goes like this, taking points without necessarily being beautiful to see, at the end of the day, the most important thing is to go up at the end. Finishing second doesn't interest us.
We had a rather coherent match, and even compared to the match against Stade Briochin, where things were humming in the first half, we showed a different side today. We showed our qualities and our playing principles again, so I think it’s good to have won in the difficult situation.”
