Winner (3-2) of SK Sturm Graz this Wednesday, in the Champions League, LOSC concluded the evening with its supporters who were demanding the extension of Jonathan David. Olivier Létang did not avoid the subject at the final whistle.
There are evenings during which it is impossible to relax for even a few seconds. This was the case this Wednesday, during the duel between LOSC and SK Sturm Graz (3-2). The Mastiffs, who easily dominated their subject, were caught at the break, before (45+2′) and after (47′). Stung, they pushed again and again, thus carrying away the supporters, who sang and encouraged them even more, in their dynamic. The wheel could no longer stop and Hakon Haraldsson allowed everyone, with a cannon shot (81′), to exult in the stands of the Decathlon Arena – Stade Pierre Mauroy during a fourth Lille success in the League Champions (3-2).
At the final whistle, the LOSC supporters had not yet finished their mission, chanting Jonathan David's name one by one in the stands while unfurling a banner in his honor: “Jona' thank you for all these years of goal and of loyalty”, could be read in white letters. As a reminder, the Canadian, third top scorer in LOSC history (101 goals) is at the end of his contract. The latter comes to an end in June 2025, in six short months.
“David, extend”chanted the Dogues Virage Est section in the aisles of the Decathlon Arena – Stade Pierre Mauroy and, inevitably, Olivier Létang could not avoid the subject in the mixed zone at the final whistle: “Jonathan (David), we’ve all already talked about it a little, but he still has an extension offer in his handsassured the president of LOSC. We continue to talk with him. He told us, he is happy here and LOSC is his club. He will also leave an extraordinary mark there. There are discussions that are still ongoing”he concluded.
