This is one of France's worst weeks in a long time in European Cups. The country has only seen two victories this week, that of in Bologna (2-1) in the Champions League and that of in Qarabag (4-1) in the Europa League. Paris, Monaco, and suffered a more or less honorable defeat. The result of the week is that France only added 4 points to its annual average, bringing it to 8,642 points, the 6th performance of the season. France sees England (11,303 points), Portugal (10,475 points) and Italy (10,125 points) soar in this ranking which awards an additional place in the Champions League next season.

On the chasing side, Portugal saw Benfica win at Monaco, Sporting lose to Arsenal in the Champions League, Braga crush Hoffeinheim, Porto draw at Anderlecht and Guimaraes hold a draw at Astana. 6 points more for the annual average which is therefore 10.475 points, second performance of the current season.

For the Netherlands, Feyenoord obtained a draw on the lawn of Manchester City and PSV Eindhoven beat Shakhtar Donestk in the Champions League, Ajax fell against Real Sociedad, same sentence for Twente against Union Saint-Gilloise, only AZ Alkmaar held a draw at home against Galatasaray in the Europa League. 4 points to add to the annual average, raised to 7.333 points, i.e. the 10th performance of the current season.

In the general ranking of nations, France remains firmly in 5th place. The gap weakens a little against the Netherlands and Portugal is getting closer but this should not have an impact this season for France.
