L’ASSE presents a contrasting face this season. If the Greens are intractable to Geoffroy-Guichardwhere they have won four of their six matches, they are however struggling away.
ASSE: Untouchable at home, but in difficulty away
With twelve points taken at home, AS Saint-Étienne ranks among the best home teams in Ligue 1. A ranking naturally dominated by Paris Saint-Germain who achieved a solid result with 6 victories in as many matches. AJ Auxerre follows with its record of five victories and one defeat. The podium is completed respectively by AS Monaco (4 wins, 2 draws, one loss) and OGC Nice (3 wins, 3 draws).
However, the external record is much less rosy. A single point gleaned in six matches places the Stéphanois in 17th place in this particular ranking, just ahead of Montpellier who have still not won away. The draw point was taken against FC Nantes in a 2-2 result.
This observation raises questions and questions the technical staff. How can we explain such a difference in performance between home and away matches? The next trip to Stade Rennais, where the Bretons are also more comfortable at home, is already shaping up to be a new challenge for the Greens.
Olivier Dall'Oglio and his players will have to find the keys to reverse this trend and thus give themselves some air in the general ranking. It is essential to correct mistakes made away from home and find a balance between the two types of matches.
