ASSE: Aïmen Moueffek relegated to the bench, the reasons are known

After a promising start to the season, Aimen Moueffek was excluded from the typical team of theASSE. Favorite of the Geoffroy-Guichard public, the midfielder trained at Saint-Étienne raises many questions among Saint-Etienne supporters. The latter wonder why the coach Olivier Dall'Oglio decided to relegate him to the sidelines.

ASSE: Why did Dall'Oglio remove Aïmen Moueffek from his typical team?

Aïmen Moueffek is no longer part of the ASSE starting lineup. His last start dates back to the defeat against RC on October 19. He has since only played a few minutes in the last four days of the championship, contenting himself with the sidelines.

Injured during summer preparation, the Moroccan had made five consecutive starts on his return. However, a physical deficit, a consequence of his truncated preparation, quickly caught up with him.

The poor results of ASSE also weighed on the situation of Aïmen Moueffek and the young Mathis Amougouwho also left the Onze Stéphanois, after 8 consecutive starts in Ligue 1.

The Bouchouari-Mouton-Ekwah trio, the right formula in the middle?

In order to revive his team, coach Olivier Dall'Oglio reshuffled his midfield. He thus trusted Benjamin Bouchouari and Louis Mouton, associated with Pierre Ekwah. These choices seem to be paying off since the Greens have found color, stringing together two victories and a defeat with this new trio.

Given these latest results, Olivier Dall'Oglio seems to have found the right formula in midfield. However, this trend remains to be confirmed against Stade Rennais this Saturday, then against OM next week.

Having gone from darling status to the sidelines, can Moueffek bounce back?

For his part, Aïmen Moueffek is faced with a major challenge: finding his best level to regain his place in the typical team. He must in particular work on these areas of improvement: his endurance, his recovery, his vision of the game […]. “Moueffek needs to be at his best physically to be able to fully express his potential. Without this, it can appear messy, less sharp and therefore less efficient”noted People-Green.

During the extension of his contract in July 2024, the No. 29 of ASSE nevertheless expressed his ambition to establish himself sustainably within ASSE.
