L’OL was banned from any recruitment during the winter transfer window. Despite this sanction from the DNCG, the club chaired by John Textor would closely follow a promising young defender playing in the Swedish championship.

Mercato: Vince Osuji in the little papers of OL

OL was hit with a recruitment ban by the DNCG (National Directorate of Management Control) for this winter. This sanction, following the club's financial difficulties, prevents the team from Pierre Sage to strengthen its workforce during the January transfer window.

Despite this ban, the sports management does not remain inactive and is actively prospecting for the next transfer window. According to the Swedish media Sportbladetthe Rhone club would have targeted Vince Osujiyoung 18-year-old Nigerian central defender playing in Kalmar FF.

Linked to the Swedish club until June 2028, Osuji is valued at around 800,000 euros, an overall modest amount which should not pose a financial problem for OL. The imposing full-back (1.88 m) played 15 league matches last season, making as many starts, scoring one goal.

Strong competition for OL on the path leading to the Nigerian

This avenue could therefore constitute an opportunity for Olympique Lyonnais to secure a young talent with high potential, in anticipation of the expected departures during the next transfer windows. However, strong competition is already in place for Vince Osuji. In addition to OL, he would be closely monitored by Chelsea, Stade de , PAOK Salonika, Slavia Prague and even Cincinnati in MLS.
