“We are going to deprive Girondins and Herbiers supporters from coming to the stadium”
Laurent David, coach of Les Herbiers, in the Talk: “Apparently we are going to play Talence and it would be behind closed doors. It's an aberration. Plus, the game is televised, so people will watch a game without fans. There are lots of things that bother me about this story. The Cup is full of people at the stadium. We are going to deprive Girondins and Herbiers supporters from coming to the stadium.
We are one round away from entering the competition for Ligue 1 clubs with the 32nd finals. I think that, if we had played at Matmut, there would have been a lot of people there. Bordeaux thinks not. So it would be a financial question from what I understood. There is a sharing of revenue, it would be 30% donated to the opposing club. One round from the 32nd finals, I can't help but think that there would be 10 to 15,000 people in Bordeaux. I find it difficult to understand, because no one is a winner, the supporters, the Bordeaux club, the players. I find it fundamentally ridiculous.”
Did Bordeaux ask to reverse the match?
“If Bordeaux wants to reverse, we are interested. There would be a full stadium with 5,000 people. It's not a problem. The club is used to this type of event since our epic in the Coupe de France. We could welcome of Bordeaux. It is very well organized and very well managed. You should know that this trip will cost €5,500 to Les Herbiers between the hotel and the coach operator. It’s important for a club like ours.”
This Tuesday, the closed session has not yet been made official, but this would be the trend at the Stade Paul-Bernard in Talence.
