This is the question that makes Parisian supporters tremble and ask them: will PSG leave the Parc des Princes, its historic stadium since 1974. Its proximity to Paris makes this stadium and its location a real attachment to fans of the club. But since the arrival of the Qataris in 2011, a clear desire has emerged: PSG wants to have a larger venue. Double problem in this file, Anne Hidalgo, mayor of Paris does not want to sell and an expansion seems very difficult given the geographical location of the Park. So, the leaders are considering launching the project to build a new stadium, larger to align with the capacities of the major European clubs, outside the capital. And internally, a shareholder is pushing hard towards this choice.
A stadium with around 60,000 seats
Arctos Partners, minority shareholder since the end of 2023, is largely in favor of the project for a new enclosure and is making this known internally. This American investment group supports the club in the development of the PSG brand and reflects on the commercial strategy. With a hotel complex, a shopping center and a stadium with around 60,000 seats and a capacity of up to 80,000, this project would give a boost to the image of PSG already very well anchored throughout the world. Enough to give this shareholder a blessing to encourage managers to launch this project with Nasser El Khelaïfi who wants a stadium built in 3/4 years.
