Having become vice-captain of PSG this season, Achraf Hakimi has gained momentum within the Parisian locker room. Author of a very good start to the year, the Moroccan right-back is becoming one of Luis Enrique's key men. Present at a press conference this Thursday, the Spaniard was full of praise for number 2.
Arrived at PSG in 2021, Ashraf Hakimi has sometimes shown inconsistency in the capital. However, no right-back has ever succeeded in dislodging the Moroccan from his indisputable starting role. This season, number 2 has had a very successful start to the 2024/2025 financial year, and has especially gained momentum within the locker room. Despite the departure of his big friend Kylian Mbappé towards the Real Madrid, Ashraf Hakimi has gained importance, and is now one of the potential captains in the absence of Marquinhos.
“I am in the best period of my career”
Indeed, alongside Gianluigi Donnarumma et Presnel Kimpembe, Ashraf Hakimi is one of the vice-captains of the PSG. A few weeks ago, the 26-year-old stated in the columns of GQ that he felt perfectly at ease PSG : “I am in the best period of my career. (…) My greatest desire remains that of winning a title with my country. And with PSG, I want to make history by winning my first Champions League.”explained Judge.

Present at a press conference this Thursday, Luis Enrique was asked about his player, and did not fail to praise his performances: “I don’t know if it’s the first, the second, the third or the thousandth (in the hierarchy at his position). That doesn't interest me much. My idea completely matches its characteristics. It is true that he is gaining stature in the locker room. (…) There is always a risk (of playing too much). We try to give some rest. But Hakimi has spectacular physical ability”confided the coach of PSG before receipt of Toulouse this Friday.
