A captivating player at the start of the Lyon season, Malick Fofana likes OL and intends to continue his progress there. The club's financial problems are not going to change his mind.
Olympique Lyonnais is expected to round the corner for the January transfer window. And unlike next year, supporters are not particularly looking forward to this transfer window to see their team strengthen. It is the opposite that is feared, knowing the difficulties encountered by John Textor to convince the DNCG that its economic model is viable, while the accounts are in the red, whether for his club or for the group which manages it. Sales are expected, and if the idea is to get rid of less important players, inevitably, those with the most market value are the ones who shine. This is the case of Malick Fofana, who is taking on a new dimension this season in Lyon, and almost represents the number 1 offensive weapon of Pierre Sage's formation.
Fofana wants the C1 at OL
A transfer is possible knowing that the young Belgian winger is already in the sights of some European teams. But, a year after his arrival, Fofana has no intention of leaving OL. He feels good in the Rhône, and appreciates seeing his efforts rewarded with constant progress. Result, according to information from L'Equipe, the former La Gantoise is not in the least planning to change scenery this winter, and even less next summer.
His intention is to stay at OL, especially if the Rhone team seeks a place in the Champions League, which he intends to discover in a club where he has made his mark. If Lyon were ever forced to sell him due to large offers received, they would then have to take strong action as Fofana intends to stay at OL for a few more years.
