Sent to the unwanted loft, because his contract expired at the end of the season, Chancel Mbemba then alienated the Marseille management. Since this summer, he has had two layoffs: one for an altercation with Ali Zarrak and the other for a medical examination where he did not show up.

Enjoying playing time only with the selection of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Chancel Mbemba recently spoke about his future. “I have a contract with Marseille. I hope (change clubs in January, Editor's note), when God wants, glory to God. But when God doesn't decide, humans do. Humans are complicated on this earth. Everyone looks at their own interests. The most important thing is that we do our job to satisfy everyone”he declared on Canal + Afrique.
Chancel Mbemba therefore hopes to put an end to this situation next January. The sports daily also reveals that he refused approaches from Montpellier at the end of October, after the appointment of Jean-Louis Gasset. The former Porto player hopes to relaunch in a better project during the winter transfer window. Stade Brestois would be on board, but this deal could be very complex, if not impossible.
…OM will not let him go for free
L'Equipe indicates that “OM wants to be inflexible and will ask for a small transfer fee from the club concerned”. The amount of this small sum is not known, but it seems difficult to imagine a club paying anything to recover a player who has not played for a club for six months, who is also at the end of his contract six months later and will not extend for sure.
For example, Brest wanted to get the Marseille defender back free. Which is therefore not in Pablo Longoria's plans. The sports daily estimates that this long series should end next June with Mbemba's free departure.
