What priorities for ASSE?

Like every Monday, the Sainté Night Club met. Nolan Roux, former Ligue 1 scorer and Sylvain (Peuple Vert) commented on the first third of the ASSE championship while looking ahead to the future. Extract.

Priority to a winger?

Sylvain (Green People): For me, the absolute priority is to find a winger. We must compensate for Ben Old's injury. Then, there are several parameters to take into account. He will come back, but I think he won't be here until March or April. And if we have to play only with Boakye and Cafaro until this period, it risks quickly being limited. Even more so if Cafaro experiences bouts of fatigue from time to time or, worse, if one of the two gets injured. And if Davitashvili were to get injured too – knock on wood – that would be the worst possible scenario. We would find ourselves in a really embarrassing situation.

Wingers are therefore the top priority. Then, I also think that we will have to look at the right-back position. Appiah and Maçon reach the end of their contract next June. I don't know what the club is planning for them, but I have doubts about their extension. So recruiting a player in this position this winter could be smart. This would allow him to prepare for six months to fully integrate him next season.

Finally, everything will also depend on departures. I think a central defender wouldn't be too much either. But if we recruit a central player in the winter transfer window, it would probably mean that the club definitively condemns Abdelhamid. To see if ODO will want to make this kind of decision.”

ASSE conquers certainty

Nolan Roux (Ex-ASSE) : “It's true that I would rather move towards new defense solutions. Because even for an attacker, if he tells himself that we are not conceding a goal, he will feel invested in the role of scoring and, little by little, by gaining confidence, we play a little better, we try more. things. Often, it's this kind of situation that frees up matches and helps free the players' minds. So, I would go with this approach. Afterwards, concerning a central defender or a full-back, that is another question to take into account. But it's true that a defender, for me, would be a good option. Now, it's always the same: you have to find a defender who is physically and mentally ready to play for maintenance.”
