Announced as being a plausible avenue for PSG which is lacking a pure scorer profile in its squad, Viktor Gyökeres spoke about his future. And the Swedish number 9 of Sporting Lisbon, in full swing this season, does not seem willing to change his tune for the moment…

Between the injury of Gonçalo Ramos contracted last August and the low playing time granted to Randal Cole Muanithe PSG lack of solutions to the scoring position this season. Marco Asensio et Kang-in Lee help out in this role most of the time, but that is not enough to obtain satisfactory results in the Champions League where PSG already seems to be off to a bad start for qualification. And the name of Viktor Rooted (26 years old), the serial scorer of Sporting Lisbon (23 goals in 18 matches in all competitions this season), was mentioned for the Parisian club in order to remedy this problem.

Gyökeres discusses his future

Asked about his personal situation on Saturday evening after a match with Sweden, Rooted took stock of his future by discussing the departure of his coach Ruben Amorim on the side of Manchester United : « It's very sad that Amorim is leaving, but obviously we understand his decision. It meant a lot to me, because he gave me the opportunity and made me grow a lot. Follow him to United? He already has several attackers there, so we'll see. But it's not something I think about », indicates the scorer of Sportingunder contract until 2028.

“No rush to move”

« Obviously I want to play the whole season with Sporting and I feel good there, so I'm in no rush to move in the future. We'll see when the time comes », continues Viktor Rooted. The PSG will therefore have difficulty dislodging it immediately to fill its gaps…
