The Martégal club passed a new examination today in Paris before the financial policeman of French Football. The verdict fell at the beginning of the evening and it is quite harsh for the FCM…
The Martega delegation passed in front of the DNCG this morning. Pierre Wantiez, the president of the club, was accompanied by the owner Lepa Galeb-Roskopp and his advisor Niša Saveljić.
The LFP press release came out shortly before 8 p.m., with a result without further explanation: a control of the payroll and a ban on recruiting during the next transfer window. But it is also noted that FC Martigues faces a demotion as a precautionary measure at the end of the current sporting season. A hard blow for the blood and gold club already in difficulty on a sporting level.
The FCM will have to provide sufficiently solid financial guarantees to reverse the situation. We should know more soon about the Martega plan, but for the moment we have not been able to contact President Wantiez for more details.
The Martigues Football Club, sportingly, is currently last in Ligue 2 with nine points taken in thirteen days, five points behind the Ajaccio, Caen, Troyes and Red Star quartet, while the return to the Francis Turcan stadium is planned for the beginning of January 2025.
The FCM is playing the 7th round of the Coupe de France this weekend with a trip on Sunday at 5 p.m. to the Stade des Alpes in Grenoble to face an R2 team, Allobroges Asafia.
