LOSC crossed swords with OGC Nice last Sunday, as part of the eleventh day of Ligue 1 McDonald's. This duel was an opportunity for Dante to wish the Mastiffs a happy birthday.
A handful of days ago, the Mastiffs managed to land on the Côte d'Azur despite some obstacles during takeoff. They thus opposed, on the pitch of the Allianz Riviera, the Aiglons of Franck Haise. In front, and twice, on the scoreboard, Bruno Genesio's men bowed their backs at the end of the match, conceding the equalizing goal in the last seconds (90+6′) to record a third draw result (2-2) consecutive. During this journey, LOSC crossed paths with one of its former members: Dante (41 years old). The latter, at the final whistle, took advantage of the opportunity to celebrate a happy birthday for the Lille team which is celebrating its 80th anniversary in a few days.
“A very big happy birthday to the whole club, to all the supporters. LOSC is part of my history, of my career. It was my first club in Europe and I was only 20 years old for those who don't know the history. I arrived at the club in January 2004 and really, it's a club for which I have very, very great respect. They brought me to Europe, opened the doors for me and I will always keep the club in my heart. I have lots of beautiful memories. From the moment we qualified for the Champions League, it was already very good”recalls the Brazilian defender.
Still on the microphone of the club's communications unit, Dante immerses himself in old Lille memories: “From my first match, I remember it was against Saint-Etienne in the Cup, I scored and we beat them at Geoffroy-Guichard (0-2). This made me extremely happy. I also left quite a few friends there (in Lille). So, once again, happy birthday to the whole club, to LOSC, and congratulations for all the progress you have made from 2004 until today with titles, great players. I congratulate you enormously”concludes, with a very big smile, the one who always takes advantage of his returns to Lille to ask for news of his old Lille acquaintances.
