Sunday November 10 was the deadline for submitting lists for the elections to the French Football Federation. According to our information, only two lists will compete, led by Philippe Diallo and Pierre Samsonoff.
Candidates for the elections to the French Football Federation next December had until Sunday, November 10, 11:59 p.m. to submit their lists and according to our information, there will be two competing for the presidency: Philippe Diallo and Pierre Samsonoff. They had to fill out a form in which the head of the list would be integrated, then a number 2 designated as deputy vice-president, a number 3 as general secretary and a number 4 for the role of treasurer. Paid positions. They then had to check 14 additional names to reach a total of 18 with parity (nine men and nine women).
In this new governance and this enlarged executive committee (currently 11 members plus ex officio the presidents of the LFP and the LFA) will be integrated the representation of football families designated by their peers. Namely: two referees, two coaches, two high-level players and a doctor. This is why the lists must also present eight names of reservists, i.e. four men and four women, which will make it possible to finalize overall parity within the list once the designations have been made by the families. And as for previous elections, the nomination form must include the 10 sponsorships necessary for the validation of the lists with presidents of regional leagues, districts and amateur clubs.
Philippe Diallo and Pierre Samsonoff mark their differences
According to our information, there will be only two lists for these elections scheduled from December 10 at 10 a.m. to the 11th at 6 p.m. (and, if there is a second round, from December 12 at 12 p.m. to Friday the 13th at 8 p.m.). The results will be known during the general assembly on Saturday December 14.
Difficult to know in detail all the names which will be present on each of the lists due to the reservists and the “men/women” uncertainties for parity with the family representatives. On the other hand, for the four positions of responsibility, if Philippe Diallo retained Jean-Michel Aulas as vice-president – who will have to resign from his role as president of the recently created Women's Football League – for the position of general secretary, two names have circulated between Aline Riera and Joëlle Montlouis. The first was already in the previous Comex, the second had officiated within the Paris league during the previous mandate. Véronique Lainé, formerly of the Mediterranean League and of the executive office of the Amateur League, could occupy the position of treasurer. For other certain members, such as Hélène Schrub, Marc Keller or the president of the Auvergne Rhône Alpes League: Pascal Parent and the two District presidents Alexandre Gougnard (30) and Claude Delforge (95) were retained from the former Comex of the FFF. Other presidents of regional leagues were approached, namely Didier Esor (Pays de la Loire) and Cédric Betremieux (Hauts de France).
As for Pierre Samsonoff, he wanted to put together a list reflecting the image of French football with its different components and decided to send a strong signal to the territories by offering the position of number 2 to a District President, that of Tarn and Garonne Jérôme Boscari, business manager and cornerstone of the project since the beginning. Then, it is Babeth Bougeard-Tournon who should occupy the position of general secretary currently employed by the FFF. Another woman is expected as treasurer: Florence Schwartz, former auditor of the Ligue du Grand Est. For the rest, in the territories: Daniel Fonteniaud (President of the Bourgogne Franche Comté League) as well as Jean-Marc Sentein (31). Some names have been mentioned in recent hours, such as former international Valérie Gauvin, LOSC captain Benjamin André, Romain Danzé ambassador of Stade Rennais or even the president of Concarneau (close to Didier Deschamps) Jacques Piriou. Clubs, and this is the novelty of this election, which will participate in the votes.
These lists will have to be validated in the coming days by the electoral commission before their official publications, which will mark the start of the campaign.
