Sanctions in sight at PSG

After the deployment of a “Free Palestine” tifo on Wednesday during PSG-Atlético, the Ministry of the Interior is demanding sanctions from the capital club. The Ultras Collective should pay the price.

Bruno Retailleau will not stop at a few tweets. Two days after the deployment of a “Free Palestine” tifo in the stands of the Parc des Princes during PSG-Atlético, the capital club was summoned to Place Beauvau to endure reprimands from the Ministry of the Interior.

Represented by its general director Victoriano Melero, PSG has received a nice boost of pressure, and is summoned to act.
“Anger has been expressed, it will not go away on its own. If the club's response is insufficient, it will be open to interpretation. If there are no sanctions, the Ministry of the Interior will not be satisfied with them”thus warned the Secretary of State in charge of the fight against discrimination, Othman Nasrou, reveals RMC.

PSG will have to crack down

What can PSG do? According to RMC, one of the first measures could be to prohibit access to the Parc des Princes for the Collectif Ultras Paris (CUP) outside of match days. In most clubs, the main groups of supporters can access their club grounds before matches, in order to prepare their tifos and the various planned activities.

Generally speaking, PSG would like to put in place a tifos control procedure in order to avoid unpleasant surprises like the one this week. the capital club should start discussions with the CUP to think about solutions. In the meantime, RMC adds that PSG could impose a period without tifo at the Tribune Auteuil, as a first step.
