Taken by Daniel Riolo who nicknamed him “Bambi” for a year now, Bradley Barcola finally continued his great rise in power with PSG. And in an interview with Le Parisien, the French team striker talks about his way of handling the criticism he receives on a daily basis.
Remember, at the end of a Champions League match between the PSG et Newcastle (1-1) during which he made a very disappointing entry, Bradley Barcola had been described as “Bambi” by Daniel Riolo live on RMC Sport. A nickname which continues to be regularly used by the chronicler of theAfter Foot when he criticizes the PSG striker. But on his side, Stagger strives not to note these criticisms as he admits in an interview given to Parisian.
“My friends send me things that we can read…”
« First of all, I don't have a lot of friends. I have very few. So when they tell me “you’re doing anything”, it’s because they’re right. And when they tell me that I played well, it’s because it’s true. I don't listen to what is said outside. To tell you the truth, they are the ones who send me the things that we can read in the press. Sometimes we laugh about it, but it doesn't go any further », confides Stagger.
“It was certain that there would be criticism”
And the attacker PSG remembers this famous evening of Newcastlewhere the “ Bambi » had been dropped by Riolo : « At the end of the match, I was really disappointed. My parents were there, I sat with them. We talked for a while and said we had to do better. It's not possible to do this kind of performance at PSG. I didn't know what was being said about me, but there was sure to be criticism. Right away, we said to ourselves: “Even if you hear things, don't listen. You know you played badly but become aware of what was wrong, and from the next match, show- them that you are not a little one” », continues Stagger.
