Mercato: Rudi Garcia priority, Jorge Sampaoli considered?
According to L'Equipe, several avenues are possible for Stade Rennes in the event of the departure of Julien Stéphan, with Rudi Garcia embodying Frederic Massara's priority.
More than 24 hours after Rennes' rout at Auxerre, coach Julien Stéphan is still in place. All day long, supporters waited for an announcement from Stade Rennes, but nothing came while the coach and his players had to return to La Piverdière this Tuesday afternoon.
Several names are mentioned in the event of Stéphan's departure. L'Equipe discusses the priority always given by Frederic Massara to the Rudi Garcia track, free since his experience in Naples last year. On RMC, journalist Daniel Riolo however revealed that “unless there is an extraordinary situation where no one wants to come, Rudi Garcia will not be the next coach of Stade Rennais”.
If Ouest-France also mentioned Habib Beye on Monday, L'Equipe cited other names considered by Rennes: Patrick Vieira, Niko Kovac and Igor Tudor. L'Equipe adds this Tuesday that SRFC would also keep an eye on Jorge Sampaoli, free since September and eager to return to Ligue 1.
