This Sunday evening in Ligue 1, OM took over FC Nantes. A painful victory which does not reassure everyone among fans and observers of the Marseille club.
OM took the place of runner-up to PSG in Ligue 1 following their success in Nantes this Sunday evening. Roberto De Zerbi's men did not have a quiet evening at Beaujoire but still did what was necessary to react after the humiliation suffered during the Classic against PSG at the Stade Vélodrome. OM can work in peace again even if next winter, it would not be surprising if some adjustments were made within Roberto De Zerbi's squad. For many fans and observers of Olympique de Marseille, management will have to act to recruit a new central defender, with the aim of helping Leonardo Balerdi progress. It is not Jean-Charles De Bono who will say the opposite.
Balerdi needs reinforcements at his side
During an appearance on the set of Marseille Football Clubthe consultant did not speak the language on the subject: “Balerdi needs an experienced player at his side. This lacks stability, rigor and confidence. We have no indisputable holder apart from Balerdi behind. And he will have to confirm after last season. There aren't many people who can replace him. We mainly focused on the midfield and the attack, less on the defense. We have to recruit. Balerdi needs an experienced player at his side. He will be good when he has a player who brings him something extra or who will fill in the little details”. It remains to be seen who OM could look for this winter to strengthen their defense, while Chancel Mbemba is still sidelined and Geoffrey Kondogbia has had to help out since the start of the season. A situation which could harm Marseille in the long term.
