A key Arsenal striker could leave the London club to join a Premier League club in contention for the top of the table.
For many seasons, Arsenal is looking for its new scorer. While the team seems strengthened in all positions, that of the center forward remains a challenge. Unlike their Premier League rival Manchester City, who benefit from Erling Haaland, the Gunners are still looking to sign the potential future golden boot. Yet, the London club thought they had found the perfect player to solve all their problems.
During the 2022 transfer window, Arsenal paid around 52 million euros to recruit a Manchester City striker, Gabriel Jesus. The Brazilian arrived in London with the status of the club's new offensive star. After spending many seasons under the direction of Pep Guardiola, the arrival of Haaland would stand in his way, and a new adventure was recommended to him. His debut was promising, but unfortunately he suffered numerous injurieskeeping him off the field for long periods. Without having succeeded in establishing himself as the star he was supposed to be, Jesus is leaving. Selon Ekrem Konur, Newcastle United could be interested in Arsenal's Brazilian striker.
A new chance at Newcastle for Gabriel Jesus
Now 27 years old, Gabriel Jesus did not reach the level that was predicted for him. With Manchester City, despite a few decent seasons, he did not become the expected successor to Sergio Agüero. Now at Arsenal, he is not a starter and has only started 4 matches in the starting elevent. In more than 80 matches, he scored only 20 goals, a ratio well below for a player of his caliber.
The Brazilian striker could relaunch at Newcastle, where the club is reportedly looking for a new striker. Indeed, their star center forward, Alexander Isak, could also leave the club. In the event of the Swede's departure, Gabriel Jesus would be an ideal replacement.
