The Magpies won 1-0 today thanks to a goal from Alexander Isak scored early in the game. Arteta declared after this setback : “We deserved to lose today. I think we started very well and we were very dominant. We didn't defend the area well enough. This is to their credit. They scored a good goal on a good ball.”

The Basque technician did not try to find excuses for his family: “We can say whatever we want. We will struggle to find the words today. We have to show it on the field Wednesday evening. You have to be at your best every time to give yourself a chance of winning.”
With their setback today, the Gunners have only taken one point in their last three games in the league. They also fell two places in the ranking to find themselves 5e.
