For the opening match of the 10th day of Ligue 1, AS Monaco lost to Angers SCO (0-1, analysis and notes) this Friday and suffered a second setback in a row after the defeat in the derby of the Côte d'Azur against OGC Nice. ASM Eliesse attacking midfielder Ben Seghir expressed his feelings after the meeting on DAZN.
This Friday, AS Monaco was unable to face the very good Angers SCO team and lost with a score of 0-1. Adi Hutter's men created very few chances throughout the match, due to very good defensive involvement from the SCO players, who fully deserved their victory.
“Nice took a toll on our morale” admits Ben Seghir
Entering the game at the start of the second half, Eliesse Ben Seghir returned to his team's performance at the end of the match, speaking to DAZN. “A very complicated match, but our opponent played well. We didn't know how to respect ourselves and respect the opponent, we know what they are capable of and we should have been more surgical. Today, we didn't do the right thing, but that's how it is, that's football.”explains Ben Seghir, who knows that the defeat in the Côte d'Azur derby last week caused doubt in the heads of certain players. “The defeat in Nice was a blow to our morale, because we were on a big run. But we will have to get up and continue. We have the chance to play on Tuesday to immediately continue with positive things, so we will do what it takes in training to correct our mistakes”, concludes the Moroccan international.
