After recruiting André Gomes as a free player at the beginning of September, LOSC could well set its sights on another midfielder looking for a new club. According to information from MailSport, Dele Alli is in the sights of the northern club. Explanations.

Dele Alli, the former promise of English football

Avant Jude Belligham et Phil Footthe great hope of English football was called Dele Alli. Launched into the deep end at 19 by Tottenham, after making his debut at Milton Keynes Dons, the midfielder quickly established himself as one of the best players across the Channel. Enough to earn him a first selection for the national team in September 2015, just a few weeks after his debut in the Premier League.

Two months later, Dele Alli even scored against the French team, a few days after the attacks of November 13. This very promising start to his career will notably allow him to participate in Euro 2016 and the 2018 World Cup, playing a major role each time. During this period, the native of Milton Keynes was even elected to the very competitive Premier League team twice (2016, 2017).

A career to relaunch

But due to repeated injuries and depression, linked to trauma dating back to his childhood, Dele Alli will gradually lose track of his career. Transferred to Everton in 2022, following two more difficult seasons with Spurs, Dele Alli is not going to establish himself with the Toffees. This will lead to a loan in Türkiye, under the colors of Besiktas, where he played there his very last match in official competition in February 2023.

Free from any commitment Since last June, Dele Alli has not said goodbye to his professional career, remaining in search of a new challenge. According to information from Mail Sport, LOSC is a potential base for the 28-year-old attacking midfielder. Far from the pressure of the Premier League or the sometimes too lax framework in Turkey, Dele Alli could find in the North of the ideal context to try to give new impetus to his career.

It remains to be seen whether LOSC is ready to take the gamble and, above all, whether the club’s financial requirements are today in line with the financial means of the Mastiffs. Even beyond uncertainties around the real current level of Dele Allithe main sticking point is perhaps there.
