Last summer, Maxime Lopez chose to take up the challenge offered by FC. Some fans insulted him. The player commented on them during an interview given on the show Hors Jeu: “I received messages, insults. But these are not real supporters, they are supporters who have never been to the stadium, who don’t even know the Vélodrome”he said.

“If I had signed for PSG, ultimately…”

The former Sassuolo player doesn’t think he has any problems with supporters’ groups: “I know quite a few people having been born and having lived in Marseille for 22 years, the supporter groups, I know them, there has never been a problem. If I had signed for PSG, ultimately, still happy. But there I signed for PFC, someone find me the rivalry with Marseille. I received messages from it, it made me laugh. There are always 2-3 idiots on the networks to insult you, but it makes me laugh”he added.

Aged 26, Maxime Lopez wore the OM jersey between 2014 and 2020, for a total of 150 matches, 5 goals and 21 assists. The Marseillais joined his brother Julien Lopez at Paris FC a few months ago.
