Currently third in the Scottish championship, Glasgow Rangers have scored a second victory in a row. The team of Philippe Clément, former Monaco coach, won 1-0 against Hibernian.
It is almost simplistic to limit the Scottish championship to the Glasgow duel between the Celtic and the Rangers, more by taking the better at the start of September, Celtic struck a blow. Beaten for the first time this season, the Rangers have been five points behind after a draw on the first day. The season is still long, but in the fratricidal duel, Philippe’s men Clément are already a long way behind. However, they are trying to keep up the pace and this weekend achieved a second consecutive success in the championship. Tom’s only goal Lawrence in the 34th minute it was enough for Rangers to get the better of Hibernian and thus keep third place in the Scottish championship standings.
This success should allow the Scottish club to approach its European meeting on Thursday (9 p.m.) in the best possible way. Winners at Malmö last Thursday, Rangers hosted OL at Ibrox Park in an atmosphere that looked set to be overheated. If the new formula of the Europa League means that two victories do not necessarily ensure qualification, a big step will be taken by one of the two teams in the event of success.
