MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – The abnormally warm and dry weather continues on as we approach the first weekend in October. The latest drought monitor coming out on Thursday shows a slight worsening trend locally and this could have an impact on fall color over the next few weeks. Fortunately, this will lead to a nice stretch of weather into the weekend. A small chance of showers Saturday night with breezy winds is the only real impactful weather we are watching.Increasing clouds tonight with a few sprinkles, a spotty shower possible north.

What’s Coming Up…

Overnight lows into the upper 40s with a northwesterly wind of 5-10 mph. Becoming mostly sunny Friday with highs into the upper 60s. Winds out of the northeast 5-10 mph. Clear Friday night with lows to the middle 40s. Mostly sunny Saturday with gust southeasterly winds developing 10-20 mph, gusting to 30. Spotty showers possible Saturday night with breezy conditions. Lows into the middle 50s. Back to sunshine Sunday with highs around 70 degrees. Remaining breezy with westerly winds 10-15 mph, gusting to 25.

Looking Ahead…

Plenty of sunshine ahead for next week. Highs will start in the upper 60s, climbing to middle 70s by midweek, and upper 70s by end of week. Still not tracking any big fall-like pattern change until possible the middle and end of the month.
