Amadou Bâ, who came second in the March 2024 presidential election, made a public statement to his supporters and political leaders at the King Fahd Palace, marking his return to the political scene. The former Prime Minister took the opportunity to unveil his new political vision, called “New Responsibility.”

In his speech, Amadou Bâ highlighted the challenges and dramas that Senegal is going through, emphasizing the need to ensure peace, security, and safety. He recalled that “Senegal is going through a period of great expectations” and that the time has come to act with method and discernment.

Stating that he is not seeking to build a party only for the elections, he announced his commitment to an inclusive approach involving all sections of the Senegalese population. “I hope that we move forward by following the approach of listening and dialogue,” he said, stressing the importance of consultations to build a collective project.

The candidate in the last presidential election also insisted on the idea that the “New Responsibility” would be more than just a personal ambition, but a collective project at the service of the country. Amadou Bâ called for taking up the challenges with the different republican forces in Senegal, affirming that this new political approach aims to build a shared vision for the future of the country.
