Cameroon has successfully entered the qualifiers for CAN Morocco 2025. On the first day, the Indomitable Lions overcame Namibia at the Roumdé Adjia stadium in Garoua. Indeed, Vincent Aboubakar and his teammates had revenge to take on the Brave Warriors. They took up the challenge with Marc Brys as coach.

The captain of the Indomitable Lions, Vincent Aboubakar, scored the only goal of the match in the 65th minute of play (1-0). Thanks to this victory, Cameroon takes the lead in Group J with three points. Except that in the game, it was sluggish on a pitch yellowed by the sun. Coach Marc Brys acknowledged the difficulties encountered during this match. But, he was pleased with the movement during the game.

“It was a difficult match. The heat didn’t help us. During both periods, we sometimes had possession of the ball and some good moves. But with Namibia’s direct play, we always had dangerous long balls behind us. I’m especially happy because we had a lot of movement in the game. We played a lot on the flank, creating a lot of chances. Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to convert our different moves. After the goal, we resisted the situation. We stayed calm. We finished the match with our heads held high.”

The Indomitable Lions will be heading to Kampala in the coming hours. This is part of the 2e day of the CAN Morocco 2025 qualifiers. They will face Zimbabwe.
