6 Nations Tournament – Paolo Garbisi, Ange Capuozzo… Eight “French” in the Italian group

Gonzalo Quesada, the coach of the Squadra Azzurra, revealed a group of 30 players to prepare for the 6 Nations Tournament match. The Italians will travel to Scotland on Saturday February 1 for the first day. Among this list, eight players are playing in the Top 14.

Last year, the Italians achieved the best 6 Nations Tournament of their history, with two victories (againstScotland and at Wales) and a draw (in France). Will they do better this year? The task will not be simple, but not impossible since coach Gonzalo Quesada’s men will receive three matches, for “only” two trips. They will start this 2025 Tournament with a trip to Scotland on Saturday February 1 (3:15 p.m.). To prepare for this first match, the former manager of Stade Français has called a group of 30 players who will meet from Sunday January 19. Among this list, we find eight members playing in France: Gianmarco Lucchesi, Paolo Garbisi (Toulon), Martin Page-Relo, Monty Ioane (Lyon), Ange Capuozzo (Toulouse), Tommaso Allan (Perpignan), Giacomo Nicotera (Stade français) , and Stephen Varney (Vannes).

Winger Louis Lynagh (24 years old, 5 caps) is not included in this list. The Benetton Treviso player underwent surgery to damage the external ligament in his left knee and will miss the entire competition.
