RC Narbonnais crucifies US in the last seconds

The derby between USC and RCN brought together nearly 8,000 spectators this Friday who waited a long time before getting excited. In the end, it was Racing and its supporters who won the gong (15-18).

At the refreshment bar on the Canal du Midi stand side, we had a playful sense of humor this Friday, November 29, ordering beers, before the derby between USC and RCN. “Four times in 2024 that we meet , we spend our time doing that (laughs). It’s like at XIII between Carca and Lézignan or Limoux.” Championship, final stages, championship, it is true that the two teams do not leave each other. They know each other by heart, and so do their supporters. Hence small episodes of discontent at each reunion. With, on both sides, a comical repetition of the insult, which can become tiresome. Last season, during which the two teams found a way to meet once again due to a match to be replayed, the pressure increased crescendo. For this resumption of hostilities, the debates and the atmosphere have restarted. We had to wait until the second half, at least the last minutes, to experience a semblance of thrill. No great flights, no attempts, nor a furious intensity and rather sluggish stands, in this gloomy Clasic'Aude. Finally the fire on the pitch came from a pyrotechnic element which ignited in front of the Canal du Midi stand. This shows the poverty of the spectacle on the ground. Until the fate of the match was decided by a final penalty, at the last second. In the end, the coin fell on the RCN side thanks to the foot of Tom Chauvet. The Narbonnais Paul Belzons and his whole gang could exult and head towards the kop of the “orange and black” supporters at the final whistle to celebrate the victory.
