Amateur rugby: “It remains a locker room secret…” AS Fleurance on the upward slope in Nationale 2

the essential
Confidence gained, conquest regained… The floor is given to the coaches of AS Fleurance, Walter Desmaison and Philippe Maymat, before attacking a “Dantesque” block.

After two rather complicated first blocks, the Fleurantins came out with a flawless third which reassured everyone, players, coaches, managers and supporters. Directly concerned, the coaches analyze this renewal and Walter Desmaison argues: “The results of this block are, first of all, a lot of joy at being able to string together three consecutive victories. The week before Saint-Jean-de-Luz we asked the players to set an accounting objective to have a direction to follow, before approaching the end of the year… We exceeded our accounting objective because the players became aware work to be done. There is also a working method which is beginning to be assimilated. In addition, we were able to bring back a lot of injured players, which is easier for us, the coaches, and it stimulates the players more. »

For his part, Philippe Maymat also analyzes this third block positively: “It’s a fairly successful block with three victories in three matches. In fact, we managed to settle our conquest, which is much more stable than in previous matches, with a newfound touch. And as soon as we have balls, we have arguments and we can influence the outcome of matches. The players express themselves and by expressing themselves, they are aware of their means and know that they can do interesting things. From there, confidence returns and results follow. We must also add significant work done in training with a focus on different forms of play from one match to another. »

And to continue: “Now, we must continue to work, to believe in our project, and to prepare a daunting block of four matches against very difficult teams to play in the month of December. »

“We will have to manage the organizations well”

And so, this December block promises to be tough with in order: a trip to Mauléon (December 1), a trip to (December 8; and first match of the return phase), the reception of Lannemezan (the December 15) and the reception of -d' (December 22, late match of the first leg). On this upcoming program, Walter Demaison analyzes: “We will have to manage the organizations and the amount of work to be provided each week. We need to be more precise in recovery between matches and we will have this late match which will be decisive for the rest of our season. It's true that stringing together three victories builds confidence, but we have to remain humble because we know where we come from. »

Philippe Maymat adds: “On this next block, we will set ourselves an overall objective of points to achieve as we did on the previous block, and we will see if we are able to achieve our objective but that remains a secret locker room. » After attacking the third block in eleventh place, the Fleurantins finished it in eighth, an eighth place that the valiant Lomagnols will try to improve at the end of this fourth block which will precede a well-deserved truce for the confectioners and which the we hope to be “warm”.

Next Sunday, the Fleurantins will travel to Mauléon and we know that trips to the Basque Country are not easy! But the ASF is counting on the positive vibes of the moment to find a little something there.
