RUGBY. TOP 14. A valuable LOU international absent for up to eight months!

LOU will have to cope without their Irish fly-half for a good part of the season. International Paddy Jackson, an important part of the squad since his arrival, must undergo shoulder surgery in the coming days.

According to club information, he will be absent between six and eight months, a huge blow for the Rhone club.

Jackson, a significant absence for LOU

Since his arrival in Lyon, Jackson has played 29 matches, including 12 as a starter. In just a few meetings, he had managed to forget his predecessor, Lima Sopoaga. His injury will therefore force the Lyon staff to rethink the team's offensive operation.

The Irish number 10, who recently extended his contract until 2026, will unfortunately have to wait before returning to the field. This long absence could weigh heavily on the rotation. And force Berdeu to have more meetings.

What future for the Lyon hinge?

With this unavailability, the LOU will have to explore its options to find a replacement for Jackson. The staff could turn to a medical recruit or rely on young local talents.

Regardless, we will have to adapt to fill this void, while the Top 14 is more competitive than ever. Paddy Jackson's imminent operation therefore marks a turning point for Lyon this season. Supporters will have to wait many months before seeing him distribute the game again.

In the meantime, the LOU will have to be resilient and find solutions. Beaten in last weekend, Couilloud and his teammates occupy 10th place in the Top 14. The international break will allow everyone to rest before returning to action.
