Pro D2 – In Brive, Arthur Bonneval () back on familiar ground

Arriving this summer at Olympic , the 29-year-old winger, who has great experience in the Top 14, will return to his former club Brive on Friday.

It was just five months ago. On May 17, Arthur Bonneval played his last match on the Amédée-Domenech lawn, during a very special evening, to say the least, since he faced his future team, the Olympic Biarritzwho struggled not to go down, where the CAB was playing for qualification. “It was quite a special match for me, he remembers. Quite a few players or coaches asked me if I minded playing, because we could send the BO to the play-off. It was pretty special, but when I’m on a team, I’m all in with them. I didn’t think too much about my future in Biarritz. If they had to go through the dam, it was up to them to move to save themselves, not the future player to hold them down.”

That day, the BO lost, but maintained its position without going through the barrier, thanks to the success of against and, a few weeks later, Arthur Bonneval took his car to reach the Basque Coast and settle in a place he knows well. “Since I was little, I have come here with my grandparents or my mother, says the winger, recruited in December by former president Jean-Baptiste Aldigé. In addition, I played with Imanol Harinordoquy and David Roumieu in , I know the “Yach”. I had only heard good things about the city and, even if it started again on a new project, the lights are green after a fairly strong first block.” He only played two games out of five, due to a sprained foot that dragged on a bit. He now aspires to better. “My goal, in Biarritz, is to not have any injuries, to have fun and to have a series of meetings, he said. I signed with the BO for three years and the goal is to play in as many final stages as possible.” A bit like in Brive, where he competed in a play-off and where he fully flourished. In his ten-year career in professional rugby, he had never played and competed as much as in the colors of CAB, which he will return to this Friday.
