Transfers. Top 14 – For Yoram Moefana, it’s time to choose between UBB and

If the Girondin club has made the extension of its international three-quarter center a priority, the latter is also courted by Stade Toulousain. The interested party should soon decide.

Hot issues have been multiplying recently on the side of Union -Bègles, where president Laurent Marti is extremely active both internally and externally. As mentioned several times in these columns, the club is indeed very close to making a huge hit on the market, by securing the services of the right pillar of Aviron bayonnais, Tevita Tatafu (21 years old), promised a bright future with the French XV. Although under contract until 2026, the interested party would have chosen to join Yannick Bru whom he met on the Basque Coast, for compensation of around €500,000.

But the Girondins leaders are also focusing on several cases of French internationals currently in their squad and whose contracts end in June 2025. As was recently explained, that of the fly-half Matthieu Jalibert (25 years old, 33 caps) is obviously a priority, he who had in his hands a proposal for an extension last season, which has since expired. But the two parties intend to continue the discussions and everything now suggests that an agreement will eventually be reached. The will seems in any case reciprocal.

UBB optimistic

But the hottest topic certainly concerns the three-quarter center Yoram Moefana (24 years old, 28 caps). While the player is free to commit to another team for the next exercise, he is especially courted by the Stade Toulousain, as revealed by our colleagues from South West.

If Moefana’s profile has long appealed to the staff of the double reigning French champions, they have gone on the offensive in recent weeks and have even received the player. At Ernest-Wallon, if the Argentinian Santiago Chocobares and the Frenchman Pierre-Louis Barassi are at the end of their contract at the end of the season, the idea would be above all to prepare the succession of Pita Ahki (he will be 32 in four days), whose commitment will expire in June 2026. For his part, Moefana has long discussed an extension at UBB, where he arrived in 2019 from but he would clearly not have been insensitive to ’s advances. However, the vice-champion of is keen on one of the executives of Yannick Bru’s three-quarter line and would have tried to do everything to convince him to sign up for the long term within the Girondin project. In recent days, at UBB, optimism was also de rigueur.
