Champions Cup – Uini Atonio and Reda Wardi (La Rochelle) affected against Leinster and replaced before half-time

Hit in the right knee and ribs respectively, Uini Atonio and Reda Wardi were replaced before half-time against Leinster. Worrying images, a few days before the announcement of Fabien Galthié’s list of 42 players to prepare for the 2025 6 Nations Tournament.

They both tried to stay on Marcel-Deflandre’s pitchin vain. Uini Atonio was the first to go down against Leinster. The right-hander remained lying on the pitch for several seconds after tackling an Irishman in the twentieth minute of play. After being treated, he returned to his place… for twelve minutes. In the 32nd minute of play, Atonio had to definitively leave his partners. His exit, limping, is cause for concern three weeks before the start of 6 Nations Tournament. He was replaced by Georges-Henri Colombe.

Wardi also affected

The problems did not end there for the Maritimes. Following a melee, Reda Wardi directly raised his hand to the sky to call the medical staff. The right pillar was replaced a few seconds later, apparently hit in the ribs. The former Béziers player, also regularly summoned by Fabien Galthié, was replaced just before half-time.
