While PSG is exploring Jhon Duran, the Colombian striker from Aston Villa, the English club is interested in Marco Asensio, from whom Paris would like to part ways this winter. Enough to envisage a possible crossover between the two men?
Relatively calm in terms of arrivals so far, even in terms of rumors, the PSG transfer window suddenly got excited Thursday morning with the announcement, by a Neapolitan daily, of a renewed interest from PSG for Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who Napoli are willing to sell, unlike last summer.
But according to RMC Sport, PSG is exploring an alternative path to strengthen its offensive sector, that leading to Aston Villa’s Colombian striker, Jhon Duran. Aged 21 and author of 12 goals this season, Duran had already been associated with PSG at the beginning of January by an English media not particularly known for its reliability.
Parisian interest in this explosive left-handed center forward would ultimately be very real according to RMC Sport, which has just revealed that Aston Villa was interested in Marco Asensio. An interest which is not new in reality since Unai Emery had already tried to recruit his compatriot in the summer of 2023, when he left Real Madrid for PSG.

Having become a substitute at PSG for a month and a half, with only 18 minutes played in the club’s last 8 matches, could Asensio serve as a bargaining chip for Luis Campos in the Jhon Duran case? For the moment, the discussions between the two clubs do not concern a crossover between the two players according to RMC, which does not however exclude this hypothesis.
If such a scenario were to occur, PSG would necessarily have to add an amount of money since Duran today has a much higher market value than Asensio. According to Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra, Aston Villa is demanding 85 million euros for Duran, more or less what Naples is demanding for Kvara. In both cases, PSG would like to use its undesirables to lower the score.
