It has a famous name: Spanghero. A dynasty that reigned over French rugby in the 1960s and 1970s. His father, Guy, and his five uncles played at the highest level, Walter and Claude even donning the French XV jersey. Philippe has not escaped family tradition. Promising beginnings – junior French champion with Stade Toulousain, international with the French under-19 team -, but he quickly suffers from always being compared to his glorious elders, and not always in a benevolent way.
