The former strongman of Stade Toulousain says he no longer goes to the stadium to watch his favorite team's matches. He explains why.
It was almost a tradition during matches at Ernest-Wallon or during relocations to the Stadium. Every time Guy Novès went to the stands to watch a match at Stade Toulousain, he was spotted by the cameras and received a standing ovation from the entire public. A situation which ended up making the man who was the coach of the “red and black” between 1993-2015 uncomfortable.

He explained this in an interview with Parisian this Wednesday, November 27. The one who still lives in the Toulouse suburbs continues to watch the matches on TV but admits that he no longer goes to the stadium much. “We cannot have been and want to continue to be,” he says in the foreword. “When I went to Toulouse recently, people stood up and applauded me. I put myself in the place of the existing staff, who work well, and I tell myself that they don't necessarily want to see a guy take the light.”

Also, Guy Novès opted for a radical solution to prevent this from happening again. He demanded that we stop filming him when he was in the stands. “I went on the Canal + bus to ask that they not film me. I want discretion,” he explains. To the wise.
