The doors of the French XV have always been open to players wanting to seize their chance and the examples are numerous, notably with Louis Bielle-Biarrey just before the last World Cup. And Antoine Frisch would like to follow in his footsteps, since he currently only has two selections under his belt.
It’s a pretty strange trajectory. Trained in French Stadium, Antoine Frisch had not played a single minute in Top 14 before this season. He indeed had to go through the lower divisions, but it was mainly abroad that he revealed himself, in England with Bristol before truly becoming known in Ireland, under the colors of Munster. Besides, these two nations could very well have stolen him from French rugby…
“When Galthié called me to come, I loved it”
But Fabien Galthié finally decided to trust him from the 6 Nations Tournament 2024 with a sparring role. “ I was super happy. I didn't necessarily expect it because it was the last week of the Tournament. When Galthié called me to come, I loved it. I am Irish. To play in Ireland at Munster was improbable. I didn't think it was possible. I am also English from my mother who is both » explained Frischwho also joined the RCT this summer.
