We know that solidarity is one of the values of rugby. And not just a little. Demonstration in Hérault where a rugby club is mobilizing to support siblings affected by a terrible tragedy.
It’s happening near Béziers, within the ASBH club. On November 18, the mother of one of the players on the women's team (Maeva, 24 years old) lost her life in a motorcycle accident. A tragedy that occurs four years after the death of the father. As a result, Maeva is now an orphan and finds herself head of the family (she has two little brothers aged 16 and 10).
To help the player and her brothers cope with this new situation, the ASBH has therefore decided to act by opening a support fund. Camille Réginaud, rugby player, is at the origin of this initiative. Quoted by France 3she testifies:
“The goal is to help them meet their basic needs and offer them some comfort during this difficult time.. In addition, I will also be calling for donations in several local stores to be able to offer them Christmas gifts. And if there are people who want to participate by donating things rather than money, that’s entirely possible too.”
To date (November 21, 2024) the prize pool in question has already raised 13,658 euros. To find out more and/contribute to this great surge of solidarity, go here.
